Stephen Lawrence Week

Children in Key Stage 2 across all the schools in the trust, take part in activities to mark Stephen Lawrence day.

This is a national event which is intended to challenge the way we think about and understand race and diversity.

It is part of the Fioretti Trusts’ commitment to promote respect, diversity and inclusion in our schools and the ongoing work of our IDEA working party (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility) .

Our year 6 pupils meet every year with Stuart Lawrence (Stephen’s brother) author of Silence is Never an Option to discuss the impact of both his book and his brother's legacy.

Stephen’s life story, short though it was, provides a positive role model of a life well lived. Children take part in different activities to explore positive role models and how we can be inspired to live our best lives.
